I have a wedding to go to this weekend and needed a quality grey suit which wasn’t too stand out and bright but also wasn’t too dull. Obviously I could have went to the normal retail stores like Next, M&S and Moss but they just don’t give that wow factor. TM Lewin are known for their quality and the Page Grey Sharkskin 2-Button Slim Fit Suit is no different.

The Page sharkskin grey suit is cut to our Sackville slim fit block. The two-button jacket has narrow lapels and tapered waist giving this suit a streamlined style. Made up in a durable merino wool blend in a contemporary sharkskin style weave, this suit will ensure you look great all year round.

The grey straight faced lining gives this suit a stylish and sharp British look, making it perfect for everyday wear. The sharkskin further enhances the soft texture and gives a subtle sheen for a modern style. We have used a floating chest piece to make the jacket durable for daily wear.

The Page trousers complete the look for this suit maintaining the slim cut. Tailored details ensure trousers that fit perfectly. Classic tailored details have been maintained throughout, with front tailored pockets, back jetted pockets a double hook and bar fastening and French bearer all ensure a sharp slim fit style.

All of TM Lewin’s suit trousers are unhemmed, they offer a free alteration service to help you achieve the perfect fit.

Obviously with TM Lewin you are going to pay a bit more than normal for the quality of the suit but for some reason this suit isn’t priced high compared to their others. The jacket is £104 with the trousers priced at £75.

Page Grey Sharkskin 2-Button Slim Fit Suit

When it comes to classy outfits and constant compliments, one thing that the outfit never falls short on is socks. Socks not only complete the outfit, they add your personality to it. The Polo Ralph Lauren 2 Pack Stripe And Plain Socks are simple yet quirky. The plain socks go great with every outfit ever made, the stripe socks, well it’s up to you.

Both pairs of socks come with the famous Ralph Lauren logo, so when you’re sitting down at work, all your colleagues can stare in fascination. Made from mostly cotton, they are comfortable and thin. You would normally expect to pay around £20 for these bad boys but considering House Of Fraser are currently having a sale, these are selling for only £10.50. Not bad eyy?

Shopping in department stores can be a little tricky because there are tons of brands and you never really know if everything you’re looking at is of the quality you would expect. A great example of that is Primark have stores inside Selfridges so you can’t always trust department stores. House Of Fraser is no different, so I’m generally a bit picky when shopping with them.

Skopes As A Brand

While browsing through the website I was looking for a suit that’s different to what I’ve been posting recently and I realised I haven’t actually posted a decent black suit. Skopes as a brand is a trusted brand in the suit tailoring world. They are not known for skinny or slim fit suits that portray you as a young person starting out in your career. However their suits are almost all tailored fit to give you that well established in the suit wearing world look.

Skopes Madrid Suit

The Skopes Madrid Suit is made from a super fine twill cloth, which is a very practical and comfortable suit. It feels very light weight yet still feels like it will last a long time. The lapels are your standard peak lapels but not the skinny ones, nor are they too wide, they are just the middle width – perfect for average/wide ties.

Three piece suits are amazing and the Skopes Madrid Suit is no different. Available in black, grey, charcoal and navy in jacket, trousers and waistcoat all for only £118. You can also buy it without the waistcoat for under £100. I must warn you though that House Of Fraser sell out on suits very quickly, I’ve lost suits by waiting too long.

Skopes Madrid Suit

When it comes to dressing well, without a doubt, outer garments make all the difference. We live in the UK, we need to wear a coat or jacket in the mornings and afternoons. The jacket we choose to wear is so important for us in UK, it’s the first thing people notice about us. You walk into a room, people see your jacket, then your shoes and then everything else (suit, tie, haircut etc.)

Penfield Stapleton Insulated Jacket

The Stapleton Insulated Jacket from Penfield is unlike your usual jacket, it’s one of those vintage style jackets. It’s a tight fitted quilted jacket that’s padded and shaped like a blazer to give it a smart finish. The shiny black shoulder pad is perfect to stand out from all the boring black and navy jackets in your wardrobe.

Ribbed cuffs get a bit annoying with double cuffed shirts, thankfully these aren’t ribbed but the jacket cuffs are still a little tight. The jacket comes with a zip and buttons, your choice. I think this jacket looks amazing left open with your shirt and tie showing so I’d avoid doing it up as much as possible. Obviously, we live in UK and it get’s ridiculously freezing here so when that happens you can obviously zip up and keep warm with the padded filling inside the jacket.

Price

You have to understand that when it comes to Penfield you are paying for quality and brand. The jacket comes with a leather logo badge on the left arm. That badge is a sign that you have taste, both men and women will see that logo and appreciate it.

So considering all of this, this jacket is £600. Well that’s a lie, it’s not £600. As always I’m trying to find the best deal online and I probably wouldn’t post this if it was £600. That’s actually another lie, I probably would still post it but thankfully it isn’t.

The kind and lovely marketing people at Penfield priced this wonderful jacket for £240. Expensive? Hell yeah. Worth it? Well it depends, this jacket isn’t a going to go in and out of fashion. You can wear this everyday for the next 5-10 years. Worth it? Well that’s your call.

I’m a shopaholic, I really am, I love it, it gives me an amazing feeling. Thankfully I’m in a position in my life where I can afford to shop where I like, however I don’t have a thing for suits that cost £400 – I’m more into the typical retail stores. Would you call Ben Sherman a typical retail store? Well probably not, but I will show you in this post a few products that will probably open you eyes to Ben Sherman and show you how you can actually shop here for a decent price.
