TM Lewin 4 Shirts Offer

tmlewin.co.uk

I’m sure there’s not many of you who don’t own TM Lewin shirts, I can only imagine my non UK/US readers not owning shirts from this amazing store. Then again, even if you’re not from UK/US, you still should grab yourself a couple of these shirts. Very rarely will you be able to find a shirt at around twenty or thirty pounds at the quality and consistency of TM Lewin.

We all know about their 4 shirts for £100 promotion which is on all year round, well as you probably know this time of the year is the perfect time for offers and saving some money. TM Lewin thankfully is no different and they currently have their shirts on sale.

4 Shirts For £80

I have nothing but praise for TM Lewin’s shirts, I generally don’t but their ties or cufflinks from them as they’re usually more expensive than the shirts themselves and I know I could get similar ties from other stores for a much lower price. I definitely will be ordering my TM Lewin shirts online this week, make sure you do as well.

My Recommendations

I have owned two of these shirts in the past which I lost (don’t ask how), my close friend also bought the other two a few years ago and still wears them regularly so I highly recommend these four.

GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt

When you’re buying something from GANT you have to expect the best of quality and so you should, you’re paying for it. When it comes to shirts, obviously the way it looks is essential but in my opinion even more important than appearance is comfort.

Comfort is something that I know a lot of my friends and colleagues that wear suits usually give up. To be honest, I’m not exactly rich myself so I understand that you do have to generally choose how you look over how comfortable you are just because we can’t afford hugo boss suits.

Here’s the official GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt description:

“The GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt in cotton with a slim fit, featuring a spread collar, a locker loop on the back, and GANT’s signature tri-color buttons on the back collar, sleeve placket, as well as the first button on the front placket.”

GANT Shirt’s

The GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt is definitely one of the more classy and comfortable shirts, it looks absolutely amazing, feels nice and soft – only downside is its single cuffed which unfortunately I’m not a fan of at all. I own maybe three or so single cuffed shirts.

My favourite thing about the GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt is the colour and quality of the shirt. When looking at it you can see the shirt is a thick quality shirt and the colour of the pink is amazing. It’s a strong pink which definitely suits my personality. The shirt can even be worn normally as you would with a blue or navy suit and tie or you can leave the blazer off and roll up the sleeves as shown in the GANT pictures.

Sizing & Price

The price of the GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt is normally at a very steep price of £85 which is very typical of GANT. Luckily with some vouchers I didn’t pay that much and thankfully being this time of the year neither do you. The shirts currently on sale from £85 down to £42.50.

Sizing with GANT shirts are a little bit different to your conventional shirts, they come in S, M , L sizes. Luckily they have a size fitting guide here which shows exactly how it fits.

GANT Brown Leather Gloves SALE

GANT brown leather gloves 2

We all love sales, well I hate sales when I have to go in store, the manic of people trying to save money is ridiculous. With that being said, online sales are amazing! So I know a lot of you, like me love GANT so I’m sure you’ll be happy to know they have a sale which covers pretty much everything they have in store. On Instagram I’ve had a lot of you ask me where’s the best place to buy leather gloves, well here they are.

GANT Brown Leather Gloves!

GANT brown leather gloves 2

Fit & Colour

I find these gloves fit perfectly, I have small hands so they are a little big for me but they still look great regardless. The brown leather is that perfect shade of brown, not too light and not too dark, it gives you that lee-way to wear it with a slightly different shade of brown shoes.

GANT also have these leather gloves in three other colours – I’ll put pictures of them at the bottom of this post.

Price

They were being sold at £80 and now at almost half price being sold for £48, which being 100% leather is definitely a bargain.

When it comes to anything from GANT you have to know your paying for the label, these gloves are no different. They have this little GANT logo embedded into the brown leather on the wrist part of the glove so it will be very easy for you to flick your wrist and show people you mean business.

My New LG G Watch R

LG G WATCH R vs moto 360 smart watch

So in the spirit of spending all your money in december I figured I would add some more things to my list of things I’ve spent money on this month. Now I have always wanted a smart watch since I first heard about them a few years ago. I love technology, I’m not old fashioned in any way shape or form.

Now anyone who knows anything about fashion and dressing well in a suit, it is imperative that you have a good watch on your wrist. Does having a good watch mean you have to spend £2000 on the watch? No, not at all, I have a great Emporio Armani watch that I bought for £330 and everyone loved it!

If you’re into technology then chances are you will know the only two smart watches worth buying right now are;

So deciding on which watch to buy was a no brainer for me – the LG G Watch R! Some may disagree with this but I only wear a watch because of how it looks. I have my phone for the time so I’m not bothered if my watch is off by two seconds every 6 months or if my watch can dive 100m below the surface. I just want a watch that looks great with my suit. The LG G Watch R is definitely one of those watches that will make some heads turn.

Appearance

I love the look, it looks like a standard watch with its circular face and its minute markers. You can change the watch face to many different looks to make it suit your style and your outfit. You also have the option of using the leather strap, rubber strap or the metal links.

Features

  • Heart rate sensor for us fitness freaks
  • Always on display feature so you can always see the time
  • Water and dust resistance

Priced at £219.95 this watch was an absolute bargain for me, I absolutely love everything about the LG G Watch R.

Next Trench Coat

So as many of you who follow me on Instagram know that I always post pictures about wearing a nice jacket/coat with your suit and not ruining your outfit by wearing any random jacket. Well if you don’t follow me on Instagram you should know that generally the first thing people see you in is your coat, if it’s an ugly one then your outfit has failed.

When I walk into work or into an event people notice my jacket first then my suit so make sure you have a good one. There are many different types of coats and jackets you can wear but I very strongly recommend a trench coat for three main reasons.

Trench Coats..

  1. Keep you nice & warm.
  2. Look amazing over suits.
  3. Come in so many different styles and colours to suit your personality.

Navy Single Breasted Coat With Faux Fur Collar

My most recent and probably my favourite trench coat is the Navy Single Breasted Coat With Faux Fur Collar from Next. I really love this coat, probably because I get five to ten compliments a week about my coat. I have even been told I look like Denzel Washington in American Gangster with it on. Not to mention the wool and the fur keep me ridiculously warm while walking to work and getting rained on or the wind tries to blow me away. This is definitely one of my favourite purchases this year and considering its the 28th of December, that’s a pretty good achievement.

You are probably wondering how much it costs, it’s a wonderful £99 well you could probably get a cheaper lower quality trench coat from Topman for £50 but I’m hoping you won’t do that to yourself.

Please note this coat is slim fitted so if you’re a big guy I would definitely suggest trying on it on first, it fits almost the same way a suit fits.

59% wool 33% polyester 8% other fibres. Lining and collar 100% polyester.

UPDATE: I’ve had some people ask if you can take the fur off – No you can’t & why would you want too?

Hamilton Suede Loafers

Update: I don’t recommend Agnes & Norman at all, after receiving my loafers, they were the wrong colour. I ordered brown and got a cream colour, the shape of the shoe its self was ugly and huge.

So at work the other day I was just relaxing and I came across Agnes & Norman in the work database and I thought it sounded familiar so I googled the company. Turns out I recognised the store, however, I’ve never actually been in before. Now being the curious boy I am I decided to go through the website having a look at what kind of stuff they actually sell.

Hamilton Brown Suede Loafers Agnes & Norman

I normally judge a store initially on the price and then I go from there. On this instance I ended up stumbling onto the Hamilton Suede Loafers. My initial thoughts looking at these shoes were, “pshh £42, their probably not real leather.” Then i noticed they were on sale down to £42 from £70, which then captured my attention as £70 is the general bench mark for me to go for buying shoes. Anything below £60/70 I dont expect it to be that much of a quality shoe. So after checking the product description, low and behold; their a quality pair of loafers.

Here’s the online description;

“Sophisticated suede loafers with this season’s must have tassle detail, Harrison is one for the gentlemen out there. Made from stylish antique effect burnished suede with leather binding, they give a smart yet casual look to any outfit, and look particularly good paired with dark jeans.”

I don’t actually own these yet as I just ordered them online today but I can tell you that I will definitely be using these loafers as work and weekend shoes. Dark brown loafers look absolutely stunning with dark jeans so I know I’m going to be turning some heads on a saturday with these. I also can’t wait to stroll into work with these bad boys on my feet paired with a brown belt, grey suit and dark tie – I’m excited.

If you’re excited as I am – have a look here.

Patent Moss

black patent moss bros shoes

So I’m out shopping the other day, pretty much the same as everyone else nowadays. Anyways I went into Moss Bros looking for brown suede loafers, did I find them? No I didn’t, however I did find some absolutely sexy shoes that I will need to save for the perfect occasion. Now we all know black patent shoes are amazing, you’ve all probably seen the Ted Baker ones thats in loads of stores. You’re probably thinking why are these any different? Well they aren’t. These Moss Bros black patent shoes are exactly the same in quality and appearance, I suppose you could say the only difference is they are significantly cheaper at £80. I do understand that the Ted Baker ones have a blue trim and a different sole but we don’t worry about that.

When To Wear Them

Now normally you would only wear these shoes at a specific event, i.e. a black tie dinner but I’m all about going against the mould. Now don’t get me wrong here, I’m not saying we should wear these to work, calm down that would be social suicide. With that being said you can wear these with all of your dark suits. I wear these on any nights out to the restaurant with the Mrs or to any event that’s out of the ordinary where I know I’m going to be out during the night. I don’t know why but black patent shoes just don’t look that good during the day.

Fakes

Now I am aware that primark sold their own black patent shoe for £15 and I’m sure there’s other black patent shoes you could grab for £20-£30. Regardless of the company selling it, if you’re going to get black patent shoes make sure they are real leather. Everyone on the planet can tell if your wearing decent patent’s or not. Don’t be that guy trying to look rich.

Have a look yourself.

John Lewis Review

john lewis store logo
[Photo: www.huffingtonpost.co.uk]
John Lewis is a weird store for me to talk about. (Warning – I’m going to rant for two paragraphs in this John Lewis review) Now I am going pretty sure most of you will disagree with me here but I absolutely hate shopping in department stores. Selfridge’s, House of Fraser, Debenhams and even TK Max – I hate them. Selfridge’s is perhaps the only one I can bear, Harrods is not too bad as well.

You’re probably wondering why I don’t like them. It’s pretty simple really. The layout of the stores themselves are pretty annoying. I’m looking at boss suits and then somehow I’m in Primark. Aside from the layout, the mini-stores inside department stores just don’t know what they’re selling, they never carry a lot of stock so sizes are very limited. My main problem however is just the lack of variety of styles as they generally try to have a little bit of everything.

John Lewis is a little bit different. I actually only buy Ted Baker & John Lewis Suits from John Lewis, I generally just don’t find the rest of their suits that special. The suits I do buy from them are pretty unique though. My favourite thing about John Lewis is being able to buy last seasons Ted Baker suits for almost half the price it was originally being sold.

I know I went on about the negatives of a department store but at the same time you can also get some great shirts, ties, socks and shoes from John Lewis. What I generally do is to go into the store and try on a whole outfit, regardless of whether I’m looking to get just a suit or a suit plus accessories.

Below are some of my favourites from John Lewis.

Keeping Your Trousers Above Your Ankles

socks above the ankles
[Photo: www.evokesocks.com]

I’ve had many people, especially my work colleagues, ask me why my suits are all cut above my ankles. They ask me if I bought them that way or tailored them. A lot of people also wonder why I don’t do the clean-shaven look, and choose to don a beard.

My normal response is; I like showing off my cool socks, yes I did get them tailored to be cut above my ankles and no I don’t want to have a baby face. Most accept that and move on.

Anyways, considering my aim is to inspire some of you I figured I’d dive into more detail so you guys can get a better understanding of who I am and why I do what I do.

So why above the ankles? There are actually probably five to ten reasons why but I’ll do my best to explain my two main reasons.

So firstly as I am from the Islamic faith, Muslims believe that God told us not to wear our clothes below the ankle or dragging along the floor. Funnily enough, as a rowdy teenager I wore my trousers below my bum and dragged them along the floor so I could fit into my council state surroundings. So to follow the practices of my faith, I began rolling up my trousers.

As I progressed in my sales career, earning more and more I decided my appearance didn’t match my ambition. I needed to look like the young entrepreneur I aspired to be. So I started following all these men’s fashion Instagram accounts as well as constantly checking online for what celebs and wealthy businessmen were wearing.

At the time, very few of them had their trousers above their ankles but there were enough to get me excited. So I went and got my suits cut above my ankles. Then gave all my jeans and chinos away to charity and bought myself a whole new range of chinos and jeans that were above my ankles.

Seeing the confidence in the men who wore their suits like this was the main thing that appealed to me and made me go from rolling them up to having them cut expertly above my ankles. To be able to sit on a busy train or bus with your black suit cut nicely and your bright blue and yellow polka dot socks takes a lot of confidence. You know when you walk on the bus, or into work, people will be staring. You might even find that you will be getting tons of people talking to you about it.

The confidence I feel wearing my trousers above my ankles makes me feel like I am closer to my goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

If you haven’t already started wearing your trousers above your ankles, start now.

GANT Review – Menswear

gant review mens suits chinos

My GANT review is a difficult one, it is an absolutely amazing store, the products are of top quality, but they are definitely expensive. GANT is a luxury clothing brand of American heritage launched in 1949. You can buy GANT clothing from the many signature GANT stores around the world or from different outlets like John Lewis. They sell clothing for men, women, boys, girls and babies.

GANT is one of those stores that I just admire, I feel great in the store and I feel even better walking around the shopping center with a GANT shopping bag. The quality of GANT is amazing, all you have to do is select one of the links below. When you wear a shirt from GANT you can really feel the difference. I would recommend pretty much everything from this store, it is an absolute top quality store that really goes above and beyond most stores.

Cost wise, it is up there as one of the most expensive stores around. The average shirt price is around £80, which is obviously more than we are used to paying. However, with the price in mind, I still very much recommend them.
